Did you know that
if every PROTESTANT church in America
had one family from their church
adopt one child
from the READY TO BE ADOPTED, waiting children
in the United States foster system. . .
there would be NO more waiting children? NO MORE.
In fact, every church wouldn't even get a child!
There are about 130,000 children just waiting to be adopted
and about 300,000 protestant churches
(this number doesn't even include Catholic churches or Orthodox churches!).
And, even MORE crazy. . .
If every church
had a family or families
adopt or foster just TWO children
from the system. . .
There would be NO waiting foster children at all.
AT ALL.
Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, HE has called us to CARE for the poor, the orphan, the sick, the widow. . . to BE his hands and feet.
There are 500,000 orphan children in the U.S. just waiting. . . just waiting. . .
In fact, even ONE is too many.

I agree, but sometimes it isn't because there are not willing people out there. We would be willing to adopt out of the foster care system, but our state says our family is too large. The state would rather have children in foster care than place them in a family with more than 8 children. It is incredibly frustrating.

Between you and me, the Lord has burdened my heart for yet another orphan. When will this burden go away :-)
When people shake their heads at our little family--I often say, "there are 2.5+million orphans in Uganda, do you think that the 10 we have brought home makes much of a dent?" Enough said.
